Answers:

1) How long of a warranty do I receive on the colourfastness of the board?
Rockpanel coating systems are characterised by their good resistance to weathering. The systems with an ProtectPlus finish, originally developed in order to be able to remove graffiti easily, retain the already very good original colour and brilliance even better and give dirt even less of a chance to attach itself thanks to the very tightly closed surface.

Organic coating systems are mainly broken down by the UV radiation (which carries a very high amount of energy) in sunlight. The UV resistance of the pigments and the quality of the binding agent system therefore determine what the panels will look like as the years go by.

The product warranty, with a period of 10 years, commences from the invoice date. Guaranteed repair costs: if the performance with regard to colourfastness does not meet the guaranteed Rockpanel specifications (see specific product sheet), the Rockpanel boards are given a new Rockpanel coating in the plant. After treatment, the current product warranty remains fully in effect until the above-mentioned ending date. This applies for all named products with the exception of products equipped with an ProtectPlus coating. In this case, the costs for the removal, redelivery and reinstallation of the Rockpanel boards will be charged.

5) How often and how must I clean Rockpanel boards?
The potential cleaning frequency of the panel surface is currently determined in Western Europe especially by the location of the facade part vis-à-vis vegetation, such as in the ´shadow´ of trees. Particle emission from industry and traffic can also have an influence. In such situations, it can happen that for a beautiful exterior a single cleaning per year is recommended. If the location is not influenced by vegetation, then cleaning may even be altogether superfluous, because the slight ´haze´ which is caused by dirt that is deposited with precipitation is not experienced as disturbing. In the event of an ProtectPlus option, in many cases cleaning is superfluous because the tightly closed surface limits dirt attachment to a minimum and therefore it may be regarded as self-cleaning.
  • Cleaning Rockpanel Colours and other products:
    Rockpanel Colours can be cleaned with (for example) a car shampoo or an all-purpose cleaner, in the dilution indicated by the manufacturer on the packaging. When cleaning, no solvents may be used. Information oncleaning other Rockpanel product can be found on the specific Productsheets
  • Cleaning ProtectPlus option:
    boards equipped with an ProtectPlus option are self-cleaning. Due to the tightly closed surface of the ProtectPlus layer, it is almost impossible for dirt to attach itself. The strength of the ProtectPlus layer also resides in its constancy of functioning after many years. The layer does not lose its effectiveness, and may therefore be counted among the best self-cleaning top layers on the market. In combination with the simple removal of specks of dirt and/or paint with a solvent, such as turpentine or thinner, or with the aid of the special Rockpanel graffiti cleaner, the ProtectPlus option guarantees that the facade will look like new over a long period. After cleaning, always be sure to do a good final cleaning with lukewarm water and an all-purpose cleaner, car shampoo or dishwashing liquid.
