Facades of large factories and logistics buildings are often clad with dull sandwich panels that don’t add anything to the building's architectural expression. Parafon, part of the ROCKWOOL Group, went for a very different approach for their new factory facility in Skövde, Sweden. They chose to contact an architect and dress the building with aesthetically pleasing facade panels from their sister company Rockpanel.

An industrial area rarely stands out for its aesthetics. Large factories are usually clad with sandwich panels that meet the functional requirements. But the closer industrial buildings get to major roads, cities and residential areas, the more emphasis is placed on them matching the cityscape. This also goes for the Parafon factory in Sweden. The Rockpanel cladding helps the large-scale construction to both fit into the cityscape, and at the same time as it stands out from the norm.
