In 2015, the Swedish municipality of Hultsfred started to receive signals that the schools in the municipality were too crowded. They therefore decided to build an extension to the then-called Venhags School and changed the name into Målilla School. The facades of the extension were clad with colourful and durable Rockpanel facade cladding to combine form and function.
It was an important step into the future. At first, the municipality opted for a modular building to solve the capacity problem, but they then decided to find a more permanent and sustainable alternative. The result was an extension that links the existing school building to the existing nursery school.
The facades of the extension were clad with sustainable Rockpanel facade boards in five different colours. Allowing the architects to create a building that not only stands out, but also blends in with the school's existing buildings.
