Different materials

In general, we can distinguish between HPL, ACM, fibre cement and stonewool. Each has its own characteristics in terms of physical appearance, colour, thickness and size.

Sustainability has to do with the origins of the raw materials. But it is also about the energy efficiency of the production process. Aspects like the life expectancy of the material also come into play. Will it stay in shape for a longer period or easily deteriorate? And even more important, what about the recyclability of the product at the end of its life cycle?

Fire safety is of the utmost importance when it comes to constructing a building. Every material has its own caloric value and will ignite at different temperatures.

Maintenance of timber-look facade alternatives is easy in comparison to maintenance of real timber. However, there is a difference in the way the various materials are processed. Some materials are light, others more heavy. Some can be fastened in one manner, for others there are several fastening methods.
